Delete a folder

To delete a folder, go to My Drive and follow these steps:

  • Check the box next to the folders you want to delete.
  • Click the Trashcan icon.

The folder will be moved to the trash, and also all the items in the folder are moved to the trash. If you have chosen to synchronize all items in My Drive, the folder will also be transferred to your computer's trash bin.

Returns the folders from the trash

If you want to restore the folder, go to the trash in the navigation pane on the left. From there, select the folder in question, and select restore from the options menu. The folder will be returned to You my folder list, and will include any items that are stored in the folder.

Restoring Folders


  • Click Empty trash to delete all the items in it for ever.
  • You can also select each item and click Delete forever to clean them from your trash. After you do this, the items and the folder will not be restored. Ever.
